The “31st Annual Texaco Country Showdown is coming to town! Trinidad’s very own KCRT is excited to host America’s largest country music talent search and radio promotion. The Grand prize winner will receive $100,000, and will be named best new artist in country music. Open to vocal and/or instrumental performers, the showdown is a great way to launch your country music career. The Texaco Country Showdown will be held in front of an excited audience during the Annual Trinidad and Las Animas County Santa Fe Trail Festival, Saturday June 9th. This year’s local Trinidad winner will receive a grand prize of two hundred dollars, plus a chance to compete in the Colorado State Showdown to be held September 1stIn Copper Mountain Colorado, with a grand prize of One thousand dollars.
